Top Team

The recently ended SPTO Board and Tourism Ministers’ meetings in Honiara last week highlighted the state the Solomon Islands is in with their tourism development.  As often said by participants during the meeting functions, “This is one of the most successful board meetings we’ve attended” attested to the excellent hosting of the Ministry of Tourism and Culture and Solomon Islands Visitors Bureau.  Expo updates in bilateral meetings held preceding the official meetings were valuable in affirming the Pacific Pavilion Expo team on progress throughout the region for Expo 2010.  With a tourism growth of 23% already this year, the Solomon Islands is a force to be reckoned and a busy Kitano Mendana Hotel and other operators were evidence of this growth.  The Pacific pavilion team thank Minister Seth Gukuna for his successful hosting of the meetings and to Michael Tokuru, CEO SIVB and Chair of their outstanding Expo committee for being the first Pacific country to comply with all Expo protocols and endorsements.  Tiangu tu mas.
